Kurzfassung
A small Romanian company has created a metallic support for a company which produces catalytic filters used to clean the exhausting gases from cars` engines. This metallic support (or substrate) can be recovered after a long use and has no thermal inertia. The company is looking for partners interested to use catalytic filters for new cars or as spare parts.
Details
The metallic support is made from heat resisting stainless steel sheet (max.50 microns). This metallic support is dipped in the catalytic solution and let to dry the solution on it.
This is a metallic support not a ceramic one, and has no thermal inertia. This support (or substrate) can be recovered after a long use (80.000-100.000 Km) and noble metals used in catalytic solution too. The company has produced a catalytic filter using this metallic support (a prototype) which has been tested and was found in accordance with EURO 2 in 1999, but it can be made in accordance with any EURO laws.
Innovative Aspects:
A catalytic filter with metallic support is more reliable then if it was produced using a ceramic support. The catalytic filter with metallic support is cheaper than another one with ceramic support and it heats faster after the engine starts.
