Kurzfassung

A small German company has developed & patented a liquid polymer technology for sealing roofs and other horizontal or vertical surfaces of buildings. It contains 30% recycled tyre material and is free from organic solvents. Advantages are high reliability and durability of the sealing, ease of its application and its environmental friendliness. The company is focusing on the German market and seeks licensees that want to exploit the new sealing technology on other geographical markets in Europe.



Details

A small German company has developed and patented a liquid polymer system for waterproof sealing of all type of horizontal or vertical, flat or curved surfaces of buildings, bridges and other objects like fountains etc. The liquid polymer is based up to 30% on recycled tyre material, thus saving natural resources, energy and costs. The polymer system is free of organic solvents, thus no smells or harmful VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions occur during its application.

The sealing system has been tested and approved according to the European standards EOTA (European Organisation for Technical Approvals)/ ETAG (European Technical Approval Guideline) 005. It is long-term durable under severe climatic conditions, does not shrink, and is temperature-resistant up to 260°C. The sealing material is resistant to pH of 2 to 14 and thus can be applied on various substrates. The material has a strong adhesion and does not require intensive pre-treatment of surfaces. It even sticks on stainless steal.

The German company has only limited production capacities as well as limited human and financial resources. Launching the sealing system in new regional markets outside Germany would require good contacts to the local construction industry as well as training of architects, construction engineers and craftsmen, which cannot be provided by the company itself. Therefore, fully exploiting the new technology in Europe can only be done successfully with regional cooperation partners. These partners should have suitable facilities for producing the liquid polymer, and be familiar with the local construction industry. The cooperation partners should be willing to license the technology and produce the sealing polymer in their own facilities as soon as the regional demand exceeds the threshold for economic viability.
