Kurzfassung
A German research institute has developed a modular incineration plant that can be flexibly adapted to changes and is ready to enable to energetically utilise different refuse derived fuels directly on site. Applications are in power, heat or process steam generation. Flue gas cleaning residues are reduced to a minimum. Industrial and research partners are sought for technical co-operation, optimisation, implementation and further development.
Details
The trend moves away from large incineration plants towards small local plants. These plants can be flexibly adapted to changing market conditions. This can be combined with regional waste and heating logistics. The modular incineration plant concept as offered by a German research institute is pioneer in this way and a valuable contribution to waste to energy concepts.
The institute offers tailor-made local micro-combustion plants in order to be able to energetically utilize different fuels on site in future. The plant is characterised not only by the ability to use different kinds of waste fractions but also by efficient energy provision with simultaneous cleaning of exhaust gases thus rendering it environmentally friendly.
The service offered by the institute includes:
- consulting, planning and implementation of tailor-made, local micro combustion plants,
- assessment of thermically loaded plant components and hot combustion chambers with high temperature cameras.
Technical specifications:
- water-cooled forward moving grate (adaptable to different calorific values),
- direct current firing,
- throughput approx. 450 kg / h,
- calorific value from 8 000 to 24 000 kJ/kg, thermal capacity up to 1 MW,
- quasi-dry flue gas cleaning with quench / possibility to insert additives / cyclone and bag house filter / catalyst (application under low temperature) with additional ozone generator and mercury sorption.
Innovative Aspects:
- Flue gas cleaning residue reduction.
- Variable assembling of individual plant modules facilitates the development concerning different requirements (modularly built plants with 5, 10, 15 MW).
- Improved energy generation.
Cost reduction through:
- Utilisation of different fuels, e.g. fractions with high calorific value RDF (Refuse Derived Fuels) that can be utilised directly on site.
- Provision of energy and simultaneous cleaning of exhaust gas, e.g. of nearby mechanical-biological waste treatment plants.
- Optimal utilisation of heat (power, heat or process steam generation).
