Kurzfassung
A Spanish SME a company with more than 12 years experience in the lighting sector is looking for an ultraviolet LED (Light Emitting Diode) to disinfect the water in sewers, which offers the best possible quality results in a highly cost-effective way, through the use of ultraviolet light. This method takes advantage of the natural disinfection powers of group C ultraviolet rays. The company is looking for an agreement with technical assistance.
Details
Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) offer numerous benefits due to their mode of operation: LEDs are highly efficient. Various estimates of potential energy savings range from 82% to 93%. Some LEDs are projected to produce a long service life of about 100,000 hours. For this reason LEDs are ideal for hard-to-reach/maintain fixtures such as water disinfecting. LEDs are highly rugged. They feature no filament that can be damaged due to shock and vibrations. A single LED is very small and produces little light overall. The other benefits of LEDs include: lights instantly, can be easily dimmed, silent operation and low-voltage power supply (increased safety).
Quartz lamps with low-pressure mercury vapour to generate such ultraviolet light there are already on the market, but not LED lamps.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The company is seeking LEDs with light waves between 250 to 260 nanometers (nm) where the most powerful bactericidal effect of ultraviolet light is obtained, in order to manufacture a disinfection system.
The disinfection system using UV rays is a simple, reliable, economical treatment for water, which does not leave any residue, produce by-products or alter the chemical properties of the water. The light emitted by the lamps causes particular photochemical reactions which destroy the genetic code (DNA) of pathogenic microorganisms present in the water being treated, destroying them and preventing their reproduction.
