Kurzfassung

A Romanian inventor developed a reversible mechanism for transforming the rotational motion into a translational motion. Innovative aspects and main advantages: the mechanism eliminates the crank and rod system of the conventional transmissions, reduces frictions and presents a reliable construction. It is looking for research institute or engines and compressors producer interested in further developments and applications.



Details

The mechanism is based on the principle of interaction through the magnetic field of some permanent magnets. The transmission of the movement is being done without any direct contact between the components in rotation movement and the ones in translation movement.
The mechanism is made of a fluted shaft on which are mounted permanent semicircular magnets which in turn are sustained by balls on diamagnetic fluted flanges which stop the shaft rotation, permitting only the shaft translation. The flanges support by balls the housing of the mechanism in which is mounted semicircular magnets, the entire assembly being fastened on a support with screws that block the flanges.
The mechanism can replace a wide range of technical applications, being based on reciprocating rod-crank principle, and having a multitude of disadvantages like:
- asymmetric construction with high production costs as well as with negative effects in functioning at start, in transitory regimes and especially on high speed;
- the existence of high frictions which need performing oiling systems;
- use of rigid components which, in case of overcharge, can deform or even destroy.
