Armrest to facilitate the application of injectables
Kurzfassung
A Spanish inventor has patented an armrest to facilitate the application of injectables to patients in hospital. This invention makes the quality life for patients better in a haemodialysis and serum, medicine or nutrients canalization via venus. He is looking for commercial exploitation of the patent through a license agreement. Manufacturers of disposable products or medical equipments are the target group for this technology offer.
Details
A Spanish inventor has patented an armrest to facilitate the application of injectables when a patient is at hospital or even for animals in veterinary.
This armrest consists of a piece made of latex, rubber or any other material. The armrest also includes two "hook and loop" systems (in the wrist and the mid arm) where two cannulas or vias made of plastic are inserted to facilitate the canalization via venus for a haemodialysis or to give serum, medicine or nutrients.
Innovative Aspects:
SOLUTIONS PROPOSED (with armrest)
- Comfortable for the patient.
- Practical for nurse personnel.
- Allows surveillance of the via condition.
- Sizes that solidarizes with the arm and to the dripping system.
- Perspiration.
- Available in variety off sizes.
- Possibility of manufacturing "one use only"
- Possibility of specific applications for haemodialysis.
- Adaptable on veterinary medicine.
PROBLEMS (without armrest)
- In most cases of hospital assistance is necessary to canalize a venous via to the patient to give serum, medicine or nutrients.
- Maintenance of this venous access with the actual methods and protocol means (in assistance of half long period):
* Patient nuisance.
* Nurses "extra work".
* Patient and sanitary personnel risks.
- Due basically to the following situations:
* The via is uncomfortable for the patient’s movements, sleeps, remove...
* Via has to canalize again if it gets out.
* Infections, accidental injections.
