A Welsh SME is offering inorganic elemental analysis for real-time screening of toxic metals at contaminated land sites. The process is able to analyse a variety of materials on-site, including soils, slurries, slag and tailings.
Elemental datasets for the principal toxic metals are available 30 min after preparation. Detection limits for major elements are 100-300 ppm and 5-10 ppm for trace elements, matrix-dependant. The technique allows for the identification of contamination hotspots, and ring fencing of contamination as opposed to non-contaminated areas.
The company is looking to meet with environmental consultants/laboratories and site investigation companies that would be interested in offering a combined service to include the real-time screening process. They are looking for joint venture or commercial agreement with technical assistance.
