Kurzfassung
A Hungarian SME offers a measurement method for sewage analysis, for automatic monitoring of the toxic metal content, for companies dealing with sewage treatment. The method allows for rapid field measurements, together with monitoring taking place in programmable intervals. It is able to detect the following toxic heavy metals within 1-2 minutes and with an accuracy of 1 %: Zn, Pb, Cd, Cu, and Ni. They seek a cooperation partner to sign a technical, manufacturing, or commercial agreement.
Details
A Hungarian company produces its products in series: it deals with cable confectioning, with the manufacturing of breakout cables and cable tapes, as well as with the implantation of printed circuit panels (SMD (Surface Mounted Device), SMT (Surface Mounted Technology) surface assembly).
The industrial sewage is ducted to the measurement equipment through a pipe. At the beginning, the sewage is diluted with hydrochloric acid. The equipment leads the light of plasma through the diluted sewage via a prism, and the prism decomposes the light according to spectra. It detects the heavy metals present in the sewage according to the spectra, and defines the percentage of the detected heavy metals according to the intensity of the light. Intermittent toxic metal loads can be detected with this method immediately. It shows the tendency according to which the expected time of reaching the allowable limit can be defined. The equipment is operating with AC mains power.
Innovative Aspects:
The measurement instrument is small, requiring no mobile laboratory devices installed in a car, other than existing equipment being currently used for similar purposes.
With comparison to present laboratory tests, the offered procedure allows for significantly quicker and cheaper sewage tests. It also unburdens laboratories as it does only the high-precision laboratory testing of contaminations of critical extent or special characteristics necessary.
