An Irish SME has developed a unique proprietary formulation for the “Puncture-Proofing” of pneumatic tyres. The technology is specifically targeted to the “heavy duty” sector of the pneumatic-tyre market, and has been developed to eliminate the catastrophic effects of punctures in heavy-duty vehicles. The formulation has unique advantages over existing materials, by way of temperature stability, process efficiency, safety and recycling.

The material that has been developed is superior to any existing technology, and is particularly beneficial for applications in that sector of the pneumatic tyre market, where failures result in accidents or costly downtime. The formulation has the potential to prevent puncture failures in heavy-duty machinery, thereby maintaining the stability of the unit.
Machine downtime arising from punctures is eliminated.
The company is an Irish R & D enterprise and has significant knowledge and experience in the polymer/elastomer industry.
Innovative Aspects:
The formulation has superior, innovative curing-regime characteristics that do not require external heat.
The formulation is stable at all high-temperature conditions associated with a comprehensive range of operating parameters.
Cold-curing material:
Currently available resins need an external heat source to cure. The new product cures at ambient temperature. As such, the tyre can be repaired on site with no need to remove the tyre and take it to a repair facility.
Temperature Stability:
Currently available resins degrade when warmed through use. The new product is insensitive to heat.
Non-carcinogenic materials:
Current technology used cancer-causing chemicals in the resin. The new technology dispenses with these.
Re-useable/Recyclable Materials:
Current technology prohibits recycling the rubber due to its chemical composition. The new resin is recyclable.
