Kurzfassung

As a result of it’s own research, a Polish research institute offers a novel use for laser photo stimulation of plants and micro organisms for the benefit of a more efficient and economical purification of communal and industrial sewage, as well as recultivation of post industrial regions, greater share of biomass in cultivation and the development of bio energy. The company is looking for a partner for the license or joint-venture agreement.



Details

Ecological use of laser bio technology counts among Polish priorities on the international scale and can contribute to the balanced growth of (among others) degraded, riverside and recreational regions. In the course of many years of studies, the research team gained deep knowledge about optimal algorithms to be used in laser irradiation of biological material used in elimination of water contamination at hydro-botanic water purification plants and biological reactors, as well as in bio remediation of various contaminants and recultivation of metallurgic and chemical plants, cement works, sewage treatment plants and degraded mining areas (including salinitized areas).
The use of experimentally derived algorithm for laser photo stimulation of plant shoots or seedlings significantly increases their resistance to various soil, air and water contaminants, thus adding to the effectiveness of low cost sewage treatment methods, and management of recultivation process in challenging areas. The cost efficient laser bio technology allows for high growth rate of industry grade plants (e.g. biomass, as used by energy industry in compliance with EU guidelines), cultivated at contaminated areas. Photo stimulation of plant and microbiological material by homogenous light also enhances it’s usefulness for bioremediation and biodegradation of water and soil contaminants. Laser bio stimulation is shown to speed up threefold the growth of plants and forming of homogenous buffer green areas along main roads (through improvement of bio energy potential and resistance to contaminants).

Innovative Aspects:
In the course of field testing, the novel laser photo stimulation biotechnology proved to be environmentally friendly, cheap and easy to employ. It can be implemented in support of water processing processes and protection against flooding, recultivation of contaminated areas and wastelands (contributing to increase of biomass production); the technology can also be used in efforts to limit the spreading of airborne pollution attributed to increasing traffic on public roads and in other fields.
