Ecological PET plastic bottle with publicity incorporated
Kurzfassung
A small Spanish company based in Madrid has patented an ecological PET plastic bottle. The bottle when empty would convert into two useful and colourful objects, extending the useful life of the plastic content of the bottle. The two useful objects, a vessel and a lid, are designed to have full colour advertising printed on them. The company is looking for private or public companies to help with prototyping and commercialising.
Details
The bottle has a specially designed profile with two sets of circular rings that divide it into three sections.
The three sections are:
1. The top section, which would convert into a lid for the bottom section.
2. The middle section, which has space for the normal product label. This section is the only one that is trashed.
3. The bottom section, which may be in the shape of a normal drinking glass or a container. Both the top and bottom sections are designed to have full colour publicity and promotional material printed on them.
Two sets of circular rings visually divide the bottle in three parts, and provide a safe and practical guide to enable the consumer to physically cut around the bottle and liberate the three sections.
The colourful and distinctive appearance of the bottles would make them stand out and be more saleable than conventional bottles.
This bottle is a normal PET bottle manufactured using existing PET methods; the only requirement is a suitably shaped mould.
The colourful and practical free lid and vessel would be an attractive feature for the consumer. The elimination of the need to manufacture millions of glass glasses and handy containers, and the raw material and energy savings would have great ecological value.
Innovative Aspects:
The design of this bottle presents a realistic and immediate solution for the serious plastic waste disposal and landfill problem that millions of empty plastic bottles cause on a worldwide daily basis. The new design has a very valuable advertising content, and converts the plastic bottle into a colourful and eye-pleasing object.
The fact that they would receive a free vessel and lid would make the bottles very interesting for consumers.
