An East of England consultancy company is helping a major car importer and distributor to establish an innovation facility. The client company already enhances the cars it sells by fitting accessories to upgrade the manufacturer’s standard specification – for example, anything from parking sensors to satellite navigation systems.
The company has adopted an open innovation approach to access novel technologies and products from around the world, especially those with intellectual property rights. The company is aiming to build a portfolio of innovative products which can be commercialised internationally, each over a 1-3 year timescale.
