Kurzfassung

An Israeli SME has developed generic field proven, standards compliant CES (Circuit Emulation Services) technology that may be easily integrated into packet switched network telecommunication equipment enabling interoperability with legacy synchronous TDM (Time Division multiplexing) equipment. It is the only generic CES technology certified by the MEF (Metro Ethernet) as per the MEF-18 specification. Equipment manufacturers are sought for commercial agreements with technical assistance.

Details

The rapid transition of large parts of telecommunications infrastructure to Packet Switched Networks (PSN) is creating a rapid increase in demand for CES and Synchronization over PSN. Large numbers of applications require delivery of synchronous services such as TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) over asynchronous packet transports including: Carrier Ethernet; PON; DOCSIS, WiMAX and Cellular Backhaul.

The Israeli SME has developed proprietary CES technology as a product line in compact board configuration. It may be integrated into telecommunication equipment such as Carrier Ethernet Switches and Routers, Cable modems, etc., enabling them to offer standards compliant, TDM, synchronous capabilities, allowing operators and enterprises alike to preserve their investments and in-house expertise in existing legacy TDM infrastructures, utilising next generation packet switched networks.

This is the only generic CES technology to have received MEF-18 certification until today. The MEF - Metro Ethernet Forum - is a global industry alliance comprising more than 145 organisations such as leading service providers and equipment manufacturers whose aim is to accelerate the worldwide adoption of next generation Carrier-class Ethernet networks and services. The MEF develops Carrier Ethernet technical specifications and implementation agreements to promote interoperability and deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide.

Innovative Aspects:
The company’s technology is the only board configured generic CES solution on the market with MEF-18 certification. MEF -18 addresses a whole raft of critical impairments – such as delay variation, packet loss and delay – allowing providers to continue supporting TDM services with the utmost confidence.

Main Benefits
1.Operators and enterprises can continue to utilise their large investments in current TDM infrastructure while migrating to next generation packet switched networks. This enables them to realise significant savings as they do not need new major network infrastructure investments.

2.Telecommunication PSN equipment manufacturers may easily engineer into their products TDM capabilities, thus saving significant costs for R&D and significantly decreasing time to market in a rapidly changing environment.
