Kurzfassung

A Polish SME experienced in data transmission systems has developed an emergency lighting remote monitoring system. A remote radio system eliminates the need for wire installation, which reduces the cost of the monitoring installation. By using the GSM network the user gets a message about possible damages. The service staff and the clients are able to check the operating state of the system by Internet. A license or commercial agreement partner is sought.

Details

The emergency lighting remote monitoring system developed by a Polish SME solves the problem of emergency lamps testing, excluding usage of the wire installation. The system includes radio modules, a data hub and a PC application. If radio modules (built in the lamps) receive a command from the application, information (like the test results) will be sent to the hub directly or by the other radio modules. The radio modules form a mesh network operating up to 255 lamps within a framework of only one hub. The radio modules operate on 433 MHz and 868 MHz bands. Suitable information is sent from the hub to the PC unit. The hub may be equipped with a GSM/GPRS module that enables remote lamp service by using the PC unit, which is located far away from the building where the network is mounted. It is also possible to monitor the system by using Internet connection. The application allows controlling and executing the commands received by modules. This is a self-service network. It has a plug-and-play mechanism that solves any problems with network configuration. The network is intelligent and has self-diagnostic, self-routing and self-tracing functions. Thanks to its structure the system is resistant to radio-frequency interferences. Those mechanisms enable self-service operating of the system in the most difficult environmental conditions. This network is compatible with existing wired solutions so it can be applied simultaneously or interchangeably with the wired network. This network may be successfully applied for controlling not only the emergency lighting system but also other systems because the radio modules operate as PLC controllers that may operate other types of lamps and devices. The company is looking for a business partner interested in buying this solution. It is possible to adapt the system to user's demands. The system may be expanded by monitoring of other installations, for instance: air-conditioning, passenger lifts or other systems within the framework of Intelligent Buildings.

Innovative Aspects:
1. Radio transmission instead of cable.
2. Possibility of using hybrid radio/cable systems.
3. Full integration and compatibility with existing wired systems.
4. Dissipative radio network resistant to any radio interferences.
5. Advance data transmission algorithms resistant to interferences.
6. Self-service network operating (plug-and-play mechanism)
7. Elimination of the disadvantages of cable solutions.
8. Carries out the service easier and faster.
9. Significant costs of installation reduced (such as material costs and labour costs, which are the results of walls preparation and cable montage).
