A large multinational company based in the South East of England is interested in seeking a collaborative research partner to develop an independent methodology to assess the rate and extent of degradation of a modified chewing gum product in the environment and to carry out tests on trial formulations. The testing would need to be in conditions as close to a true environment as possible, preferably in both simulated and real conditions. Necessary conditions for the study will need to include exposure of the gum base to a variety of seasonal weather conditions, particularly combinations of rain and sunlight. The ideal study would also include a footfall element. The project would be fully funded by the company for a period of upto one year with the expectation that the results would be published in an appropriate peer reviewed journal. The collaboration would include sharing background knowledge and in-house methodology.
