Search for new or improved materials for pre-fabricated house

Kurzfassung

A Lithuanian company is constructing so-called "pre-fab" houses. The company manufactures "passive" panel and wooden frameworks that are assembled on site into a house. The company is looking for a partner who can offer effective solutions for improving panel board-framework houses. New solutions could be the use of new materials or new procedures for treatment of wood or sandwich boards. The solution can be ready to apply or still in development.

Details

The company uses a proven process to manufacture and build pre-fab houses based on the manufacturing of panel board-frameworks. The structural timber frame is produced inside the company and the panels are delivered to the site, and then assembled. This producing and assembling process can take 5 to 7 working days. It is possible to build such houses in any season.

Nevertheless, the company is looking for potential partners who have effective solution (s) how to improve this panel board - frame house; the most desired solutions are:
- improving the acoustic quality of house by changing the acoustic characteristics of wood;
- better isolation characteristics, which will lead to less energy consumption of the house;
- increasing the life-time of the material, increasing the life-span of the house;
- cost-saving, by replacing timber with cheaper materials with similar characteristics.

Possible solutions are new technologies or treatments to change the quality of wood, new procedures to make sandwich boards with improved characteristics or the replacement of wood with other materials such as plastics or composite materials (e.g. wood-plastic composites).

The company is open for technical cooperation or manufacturing agreement; others collaboration possibilities can be discussed. The requested technology could be ready for application or still in development in which case further (collaborate) research/development can be done.

Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The company seeks for solutions which could improve existing parameters of the materials related to acoustic, isolation, or other characteristics. The solution can be ready to apply or still in development. At the same time, the technology should be simple and easy to implement to the panel board - frame house.

Current board composition and technical parameters of the house are following:

-sandwich impregnated plywood sheets: the external layer of 12 mm inner - 9 mm;
-the core of non-stone-wool;
-plate thickness of 120mm (others available in thickness from 100mm to 250 mm);
-plate length 3.6 m;
-plate width 1.2 m or 0.6 m;
-heat transfer koef., U <0:35 W/m2K;
-weight about 23 kg/m2, the whole plate weighs about 100 kg / pc;
