The demand of mussels is increasing. Blue mussels are not threatened by over fishing, they are among the best seafood from a climate point of view, they have a high nutritional value and they are tasty. There is an potential of a tenfold increase in production of Blue mussels in Sweden.
Today the Swdish Blue mussels are sold in bulk in big-bags wich are not available or adopted for further processing in food industy or by the final consumer. There is a great potential in finding packaging solutions for these segments on the market.
