This Brussels based company looks for knowledge, technologies or solutions which improve the overall appearance of hair out of preferably rinse-off conditioner.
Multiple factors determine overall appearance of consumer’s hairs (shine band, chrome band or background color retention) as well as hair alignment.

The company further needs effective technical or material approaches and solutions.

Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
These approaches or solutions should take into account the following constraints:

1) Effectiveness of material: Some pigments (and oils) improved shine and chrome, however very high level of material usage (more than a few %) is required even as leave-on application. When the company uses the materials as rinse-off conditioner, they could not see the benefits, probably due to poor deposition efficiency.

2) Trade-off in feel: Some pigments or fine particles, which boosted shine/color, provided dry feel negatives and the negatives could not improve enough even with combination of right high level of silicones. The company also needs to take care of greasy/sticky feel negative, which sometimes come from high usage of oils/silicones.

3) Predictive method: As consumers evaluate overall appearance by involving multiple factors such as shine band, chrome band or background color or hair aliment or the change upon hair movement, it is difficult to predict desired appearance. Sometimes, 2D pictures provide variable results compared to actual 3D mannequin hair.

The following are considered as success criteria:
- Significant improvement in at least one of appearance benefits vs. placebo, without major trade-off elements
- At this stage, no cost targets are set (depends on benefits and usage level)
- At this stage, there are no strict targets, but global supply is desirable
- No pre-existing intellectual property which constrains our ability to use the materials
