A small Romanian research company has developed an very efficient lamp based on a tube with electric discharge in high-pressure mercury vapours with a lighting efficiency of 75~150 lm/W, double face to actual limit. The new lamp having standard external dimensions and gaseous medium is realized in degrees of efficiency from 75 to 150 lm/W. It has a new firebox for electric discharge and a new space for a UV generator, which is a cylindrical crown with reduced cross-section, and demands reduced electrical intensities.
