Offered solutions should include one or more of the following approaches:
- Protection of/or restoration of acid eroded tooth surfaces and comparable to fluoride (Anti-Caries)
- Malodor reduction better than Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC) and of longer duration + Plaque re-growth prevention > Chlorhexidine (CHX) without stain/taste negatives (Gum Health)
- Reduction in bad breath preferably better than Listerine
- Reduction in gram negative/anaerobic bacteria
Product form could include :
- Dentifrice
- Mouth rinse
- Gum or lozenge
The company has a preference for products where:
- The active is preferably GRAS (Generally recognized as safe)
- Clinical data exists
- Consumer acceptance has been demonstrated
- Stability data is available
- Compatibility has been shown with common oral care ingredients
- Human safety has been confirmed + ISAPP (International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics)probiotics safety criteria
- Patent protection is in place
