Measurement of emission gasses from livestock production systems.

A Danish innovation and research institute working with technologies and development in the agricultural sector offers expertise in technologies and concepts within the measurement of emission gasses from livestock production systems. The institute is looking for partners for joint innovative research and development projects in the area of improved methods for measurement of emission ammonia, odour and greenhouse gasses from livestock production.

Details

Livestock production is a major source of polluting gasses which affects national emissions targets and the agriculture development. As a consequence there is a major interest in developing environmental technologies aiming at reducing emission levels.
The institute has expertise in the fields of microbiological processes and measurement of emissions and wishes to offer this in connection with the quantification of emission levels and development of improved and efficient measuring systems related to cattle production in open housing systems, manure storage and and application of livestock manure.
The institute has been and is engaged in pilot scale and experimental field studies in the field.

Innovative Aspects:
The institute's competences in the fields of microbiological processes and measurement of emissions have been used for product development purposes, eg. to develop a complete system solution which can deliver air cleaning, climate control and ventilation.
However, improved and better methods for measurements are required to quantify the cost and environmental efficiency of technologies and livestock production system.
