PS: FP7 FoF - Management of Textile Productions in Europe

Kurzfassung

A Spanish Research Center is looking for partners for a project focus on the design of a tool that allows to optimize textile productive processes and the integration in both simulation tools and production systems. This ICT (Information and Communication Technologies ) tool will enable a reduction in the consumption of resources, both energy and materials, a more robust process which allows to cut costs of non-quality, and an increase of the productivity and a reduction of the time cycle.

Details

The objective of the project is to design a tool allowing to optimize the textile productive processes and the integration in both simulation tools and production systems. This ICT tool will enable a reduction in the consumption of resources, both energy and materials, a more robust process which allows to cut costs of non quality, and an increase of the productivity and a reduction of the time cycle.
This project will allow workshops across Europe to have a support guide, showing the way to improve skills and build the knowledge necessary to face the current and future challenges to which European textile sector copes with.
Across the project, the following goals will be achieved:
- Knowing European experiences in similar production structures: problems that companies have to face with, search for solutions, management ways, etc.
- Identiying restrictions, best practices and improvement possibilities in textile enterprises
- Charaterization the success and failure models
- Evaluating production planning tools for the improvement of textile productive systems
- Designing and implementing a tool of production optimization in textile factories
Starting from an inventory of machinery and production systems employed in European companies to produce textile garments and the analysis of the different production systems used at European level, the most appropriate methodology and tools for companies will be selected, identifying the requirements and specifications this tool should have according the diversity of companies from the sector.
Later, the new ICT tool will be designed taking into account: baseline data, necessary functionalies, integration in tools of production planning, modular design based on the types and business needs, integration of RFID, BIDI technologies, etc. for the data capture, etc, making possible the integration in both simulation tools and production systems itself, considering software and control devices - online monitoring.

Configuration of the consortium. Currently, it consists of 4 partners:
RTD (Spain): coordinator. Analysis of texile processes. The Coordinator will also collaborate in other project stages
RTD: definition of methodology, analysis of data
Large Enterprise: end user, identification of starting data, limitations of textile processes
SME: design of ICT solution, development of software

They search two or three additional partners with the following roles:
RTD: definition of the tool, analysis of starting data, data capture
SME (2): textile end user, and support to the design and development of ICT solution

The proposal will be submitted to the call: Factories of the Future’ - 2012.
Call Identifier: FP7-2012-NMP-ICT-FoF.
Deadline 1st December 2011.
The total project budget proposed is between 2-3 M€.
