A French start-up has developed a solution to monitor photovoltaic and renewable energy installations (wind power, biogas, hydro-power, heat pump, etc.) on a remote basis. This solution not only monitors production indicators and generates alarms but also allows to realize expert analysis of the installation: module ageing, dirtying, etc.The platform also allows to share the data between all actors (equipment supplier, installer, facility manager, owner) including workflow (alarms, maintenance management. It is estimated that up to 25% of the production is lost due to problems that could have been detected with this solution, which allows end clients to: Gather large amounts of data from numerous sources, Build accurate and concise reports on several renewable energy power plants, Carry out advanced analyses about the PV modules: ageing, partial shadowing, comparisons between sites, etc.., Manage on-site actions, Manage configuration, inventory and flashing data of the modules, Communicate with all the actors of the installation (equipment suppliers, installers, facility manager, sub-contractors, owners, etc.), Save all this data on a centralized, redundant and secured server. Commercial agreements with technical assistance are sought.Innovative Aspects:The French company is co-developing this technology in partnership with INES, the French institute for solar energy, depending on the CEA, an expert system to detect all kind of defaults: ageing, dirtying, partial shadowing, mismatch, comparison between sites, etc. and to generate forecast of production linking data with weather forecast.
