The technology allows hospitals and laboratories to dispose of toxic waste and sharps on site by using a flameless electro thermal process.
The process involves the use of Infra Red and Microwave technology, and reduce all metals and toxic substances to a sterile ash.
The process removes the need for safe transportation of waste to remote sites, and involves equipment that typically is equivalent in size to a small car.
The technology allows for the disposing of clinical waste including CJD prions and MRSA at, or close to the source of this waste e.g. hospital wards etc.
The process uses microwave and infrared technology at temperatures in excess of 1100C, which is required to destroy all organic hazards .
