Gas transferring Membranes for application in the Environmental Industry

An Irish SME, is looking for gas transferring membranes and possibly modules, for a specific application in the Environmental industry. Both hollow fibre and flatsheet membranes would be suitable, but not spiral wound.

The membranes material must be long lasting minimum 5 year life expectancy and must have good oxygen transfer properties. The membranes can be either hydrophobic with a pore size of less than 0.02 mm e.g. polypropylene or polyamide or else a dense membrane (no pores) which is gas permeable e.g silicone (PDMS) or PMP. If the supplier manufactures modules as well then they should be open to discussion on new module configurations and layouts, as maximizing the surface area per unit volume is not required. This application is in the Environmental sector, and therefore medical grade or food grade quality is not required.

The Irish SME is hoping to acquire initially 10 m2 of membrane surface area for preliminary testing, with a possibility of a follow order of 100m2 later in the year. Their requirements would then be for 10,000m2 if the initial testing is validated.
