3D-Extrusion of complexed shaped parts of plastics, rubber and aluminium
Kurzfassung
An SME in west Sweden has developed a unique patented technology how to extrude complex shaped parts of plastics, rubber or aluminium. The extrusion method saves both time and money compared with injection moulding of similar parts. Applications are in automotive, plastic and rubber parts, safety, etc. The company is looking for partners for joint development, commercial agreements with technical assistance and for licensing the technology.
Details
3D-Extrusion of complexed shaped parts of plastics, rubber and aluminium offers new possibilities and great savings by replacing moulding of rubber, thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) & plastics and enables elimination of post-extrusions machining in aluminium. With one or more integrated rotating dies in the extrusion-tools pressurised zone it becomes possible to extrude profiles with variations in thickness and with pattern on 1, 2, 3 or more sides.
The 3D-extrusion-tools fit existing die-holders in plastic, rubber, TPE & aluminium-extrusion-lines. The company can provide assistance from the design-phase all the way to serial production. No matter if it is an aesthetic consumer product in TPE, a light-weight bumper beam in Aluminium, an anti slip product in rubber or a heat exchanger in an energy system.
Innovative Aspects:
3D-extrusion makes it possible to achieve:
• Rationalisation - reduce investments, machining & scrap
• Weight saving - put the material where you want it
• Improved heat-transfer - through area enlargement
• Improved anti slip - with efficient pattern
• Improved fatigue resistance - non-broken material veining
• Environmental gains - less energy & material use
• Enabling elimination of machining of Aluminium profiles
• Enabling replacement of moulding plastic, TPE & rubber profiles.
