Details

Rising sea levels with respect to the climate change puts especially small and densely populated countries under risk. Increased amount of rain, flooding, melting of arctic ice, hurricanes and other disasters caused by global warming cause the water level to rise. As the water level ascents, the safety of the population living on the land is jeopardised. Rising water levels have also negative effect on the economic value. A Turkish construction company has developed an innovative floating construction system. The floating house does not only offer the solution to the mentioned problems but also is a product combining ecologic and passive house concepts. The company is open to signing license agreements and / or commercial agreements with technical assistance for generalizing the construction of floating ecologic and passive houses.

Innovative Aspects:
The bearing system is hidden in the construction therefore it is not exposed to corrosive sea water. The mentioned property also supplies the official isolation value (outside wall: 0,154W/m2K) required by the EU standards. The energy to be used is supplied from the sunlight. There observed no humidity, mould, fungus formations on the construction system as the walls can breathe. The construction material is very light in weight in comparison to conventional construction material, offering the opportunity of approaching to shallow waters, and an increased capacity of water and waste water storage.
