Global tragedies also create a need for inexpensive, ready solutions for relief efforts. Water carrying devices are needed immediately in response to natural and manmade disasters.
The company seeks a waterproof, flexible material from which to construct an ergonomic, user-friendly, personal, water carrying device.

Possible approaches might include, but are not limited to:
- Single substrate materials
- Lined, laminated, or coated finished materials

The following approaches are not of interest:
- Non-flexible materials such stiff plastics, steel, etc.
- Fabric treatments, coatings, and liners that are not available in a finished material
- Technologies that require further development.

Permit standard construction methods (cutting, stitching, sealing)
Allow stitched edges to be effectively sealed for complete waterproof ability
Be of low cost for use in third-world markets
Be durable and resistant to puncture, UV, and everyday wear and tear
Be safe for contact with drinking water
Be readily available for production.
