Croatian IT company that develops software for electronic data interchange and provides business consulting, has developed a service that enables clients to exchange business documents - orders, dispatch advices and invoices over Internet. It also enables companies to exchange master data about products through global GDSN network. All communications are done machine to machine, thus reducing the risk of human error in the process. This service provides clients with single point of contact through which they are able to send and receive electronic messages from all of their trading partners.It is designed to require minimum or no work at clients site, a feature that greatly reduces initial costs.
All electronic messages are exchanged through Internet using a secure AS2 protocol.
Receiver of message is not necessarily user of the company's service - messages are delivered to all partners - either directly to their information infrastructure, or via e-mail or fax, converted to human readable format.
Service can be customized for every user – from visual experience that allows custom color combinations, different languages, custom data, to (to some degree) customization of business process workflow – some messages can be automatically transferred to client, while others may require further authorization.
Innovative Aspects:
There are several innovative aspects of this product:
- usage of Internet as a media for data exchange eliminates the need for VAN providers or leased lines
- all trading partners of a client company are connected electronically - for a retailer even the smallest supplier receives it's orders through this service.
This eliminates the need to maintain different formats and standards in retailer’s information infrastructure
- same service provides possibility to synchronize master data about products and locations through Global Data Synchronization Network - global network under GS1 organization through witch more than 15000 trading partners worldwide exchange data at this time
- with minimal or no intervention in existing clients software initial costs are greatly reduced
- electronic messages are exchanged through Internet, eliminating the need for VAN providers or special leased lines, operating costs are greatly reduced
- direct M2M communication eliminates vast majority of human introduced errors
- compared to traditional paper documents, electronic document exchange is much cheaper
- documents are converted automatically to a format suitable for receiver. For example, if receiver uses SAP, orders are delivered in SAP format.
