Kurzfassung
A Russian SME (Saint Petersburg) offers development of technologies for production of submicronic powders and nanomaterials in planetary mills. Selection of parameters of milling to the customer specification results in considerable improvement of the powder quality (the powders are more active and better sintered). Development of optimal technology modes includes complex testing of powders before and after milling. The company seeks partners for technical cooperation.
Details
Creation of new materials requires technologies for powdering of various materials. Reduced to 10-7 – 10-9 powders enable creating materials with greater density, hardness, durability and better electric characteristics. Powdering processes are widely used in chemical and ceramic productions, in powder metallurgy, in production of catalytic agents and medications, and many other fields.
Excellent powdering and activation results could be achieved at high-energy planetary mills. The new generation of powdering equipment allows achieving smaller size of particles and obtaining activated powders with new physical and chemical behavior. The technology of powdering in planetary mills depends both on the material’s characteristics and on the product’s further application.
The company is experienced in developing technologies for powdering various materials (oxides, carbides, nitrides, metals, composite materials, lamellar silicates, solid wastes and others) at planetary mills.
The company offers development of technologies to the customer specification:
- complex testing of powder materials before and after mililing,
- assessment of expediency of planetary mill’s use for client’s materials within a pilot project,
- development of powdering modes optimal for solving a particular task and for getting a product with reproducible characteristics.
The effectiveness of the technology was demonstrated in powdering aluminium oxide, titanium oxide, talcum, silicon nitride, aluminium nitride, tungsten carbide, wastes of hard alloys (tungsten carbide/cobalt covered with titanium nitride), aluminium alloy, titanium nickelide, silicon carbide, andalusite.
The company can offer production of small batches of a product (below 100 kg) after identifying the optimal conditions of milling. In case the product is of constant need, the company will transfer the technology of planetary mill powdering.
Innovative Aspects:
The advantages of making submicronic powders and nanomaterials in planetary mills are as follows:
- technology of powdering in high-energy planetary mills (HPM) is developed in accordance with materials and goals of a client,
- the size of particles obtained in HPM is proved to be 18 times less than obtained with other methods of powdering,
- the time of powdering in HPM makes usually 10-30 min, in comparison with dozens of hours of milling in attritors and other blenders,
- the obtained powders are activated, they have new physical and chemical characteristics. They are featured with a great activity and reactivity; ceramic materials are sintered at lower temperatures, the sintered materials have greater density, hardness and durability.
