A consortium of mechanical subcontracting companies based in northern Italy has developed over 20 years of activity a set of technical solutions most suitable for energy production systems, in particular for wind turbines or similar devices.Pooling the competencies of their 12 partnering companies, that have over 30 years experience in traditional and advanced machining (shearing, boring, grinding, turning, milling, creep feeding), materials (metal, rubber, plastic, etc.) and surface treatment, they offer manufacturing capacity for the production and assembly of high precision, high performance gears, transmission shafts and parts for rotating unions. Shafts and other parts for rotating unions are processed by specific coating technologies and treatments featuring wear resistant surfaces and conductive layers for electrical transmission. The quality level of coating treatments employed in this is tested in internal laboratories measuring the Micro Vickers Hardness, the coating density ratio and thickness of the covering. The consortium is looking for industrial partners and cooperation in further development of the technologies.
Innovative Aspects:
They have developed inter alia a novel toothing gear process that allows thousandth-precision machining and high quality level of the finished surface in a single pass, thanks to a particular amendment of the involute.
The main advantage of the offer conncerns the capacity of the consortium to manage the whole production cycle, including design, quality assurance and after sales assistance at central level, through a dedicated team of highly skilled professionals and an IT collaborative platform, allowing partners and clients to take advantage at the same time of the flexibility of small companies participating (10 employees on average) and of the critical mass of resources and competencies needed to carry out complex projects.
