This company offers an innovative approach to railway fleet management by proposing an "out of the box", fully functional technology solutions to railway operators, ECM (entity in charge of maintenance), owners, maintainers, insurers, manufacturers as well as trackworks and leasing companies.The solution works out-of-the box by installing the plug & play hardware on the trains (diesel locomotives, electrical locomotives, wagons, trackworks machines) and by logging on to the online server to access the telematics data and to work in the fleet management application. There are no complicated IT developments or train retrofit project for the end customer.
The main functionalities of the server side application are:
-Geolocalisation with track, trace, geofencing alerts
-Railway Operations management with integrated consignment notes and km monitoring
-Railway Warranty and Corrective maintenance management, with tracking of downtime and repair costs
-Railway Preventive maintenance management, with full history and log book integration at component level
-Railway Safety Management (campaigns, overdue maintenance, mandatory modifications)
-Railway Contract management (transport, maintenance, leasing, insurance)
-Multilingual software, with business intelligence and full automation of PDF reports (invoices, warranty)
-Classic Enterprise Management functionalities such as invoicing, recurring billing, crm, purchase management, cost tracking, skills management.
The system is complemented by mobile clients (Iphone OS, Blackberry OS, Linux OS, Android OS, Windows Mobile OS) to enable easy fields data collection or data access.
The mobile clients work when there is no network coverage thanks to its local data synchronisation capabilities. The mobile clients are easy to configure and can be downloaded and installed by the users themselves as a mobile application.
The company is seeking to expand its services to European Railway actors and is seeking clients willing to experiment the technology or manufacturers willing to integrate such technology in there aftersales proposition.
Innovative Aspects:
Existing telematics are complicated to integrate on trains: existing devices are often not railway homologated (EN 50 155), require Train modifications and re-homologation, and are usually not compatible with more than one subsystems, as such subsystems (engine, energy counter, gearbox…) often require non-standard communication protocols.
Existing telematics are complicated to integrate in the IT chain: existing solutions either don’t achieve the level of functionality required by users as the online application integrated with the telematics is poor and not evolutive, or require the customer to integrate complex data synchronisation servers with a custom developed end-user application. In both cases, existing solutions often results in a costly, difficult to maintain, low functionality system for the end users which leads to data duplication into others systems and loss of productivity.
The company’s telematics devices can be easily installed on the trains and are compatible with selected train subcomponents. The Hardware is EN 501555 certified and the installation can be performed as a non-significant modification in just a few hours.
The data send by the telematics equipment is directly accessible inside the comprehensive the fleet management platform and requires no server integration or application development.
The fleet management application is a very rich and evolutive railway business application which can be further extended and customised with “a la carte” enterprise management modules from the OpenERP module library.
