Kurzfassung
A Swedish University spin-off has developed a substance made of colloidal silver, a nanoproduct for antibacterial surface treatment. One key application is within sustainable construction, where organic fouling may cause large damages on buildings and construction elements, on materials of concrete, brick, wood, metal, plastics, etc. They are looking for industrial partners for licensing agreements and adoption of the technology to match application specific requirements.
Details
Fouling phenomena are common and diverse, ranging from deposits on buildings or construction elements, fouling of ship hulls, fouling of heat-transfer components through ingredients contained in the cooling water or gases and even the development of plaque or calculus on teeth.
The tecnology developed by the Swedish spin-off offers a treatment of surfaces, where organic fouling can be avoided, i e the impregnation of colloidal silver on the surface creates a sustainable, biocidal effect that prevent organic fouling over time.
